Save me from this... Save me from having to sell the big issue Okay, Seriously...what's this about?

Andrew (Drew) Pilottos a Ruby/Coldfusion Developer from Sydney is moving to Melbourne and is looking for part-time work. Drew obtained his Diploma of Web Development from SIT in June 2007 majoring in C# programming.

After building a Content Management System using ASP.NET he got a job as a Coldfusion Developer, which is what he has been doing for the past year.

He is currently building a blog using the Camping Framework and a web application using the Rails Framework, whilst learning how to develop Apple Software using XCode and Interface Builder.

Drew is reliable and hardworking person. He is creative and innovative, he seeks better and more efficient ways to get things done, his main strength is his ability to think outside the box.

Drew brings his strong passion for Ruby on Rails to our ColdFusion team and by doing so, he has continually challenged and encouraged us to rethink and re-evaluate our approaches. His noteworthy contribution to the team is: website generator which has increased our team's productivity tremendously.

I recommend Drew for any Ruby based position or any development position as I believe his working ethics combined with his passions will be a great asset to any company/organization.

In my mind, Drew is a programmer but not just a programmer, he is multi-talented. When I say multi-talented, it's not only about how many different programming languages he can use, although I still need to mention a little here, he can code in C#, ColdFusion, Ruby etc, but also his capabilities in many critical non-programming stuff which is tightly related to the whole courses of web development. As his colleague working for a same small web development company, I've seen hundreds of times he involves in project startup briefing, wireframe construction and all sorts of design tasks. He always put his thoughts and comments at the very beginning of a project, and as far as I can see, they're very helpful. So if you hire Drew, I promise you will actually get one high quality programmer plus half designer, why not?

What's more, Drew is a quick programmer producing high quality code, which means he has the ability to meet deadlines. One specific example I would like to mention here is, when I worked together with Drew on Australian Olympics Committee's Resources Database for 2008 Beijing Games, the client delayed the confirmation of our design, so when I gave Drew the final design for all those tricky and tedious bulk actions, it's the day before the project goes to alpha, and it's 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Next morning, I stepped in feeling a little drowsy, then I got his email. It's all done and more importantly, it's working. Awesome, don't have to say anything else!

If all my above comments sound like not enough, think about Drew's age. He is 19. I personally don't really believe this in terms of all the excellent works has been done by him. It's just unbelievable, I've seen a lot of smart people in the uni who can achieve very high academic results, but none of them is at this age and as for passion, Drew gets more. If a person is doing something he has a passion on it, it's dangerous and powerful.

By the way, don't forget to check his birth certificate if he says he is 19. My girlfriend is also 19, and all the things she has with computers are watching cartoons online and playing stupid games with a big Hello Kitty in her arms....

Drew gets things started. While you're still thinking about the interface, Drew will have implemented the database. While you spend an afternoon with the client discussing the mix of race and gender in the sidebar images, Drew will have built the image selector. While you wonder about the way forward to make your legacy code more maintainable, Drew will invent a legacy code versionator. While you argue about whether to work in C# or PHP, Drew will rebuild your core in rails. Drew is the best 18-year old programmer i've ever met. So what if he's 19?

When he's got something to focus on, Drew is fast. When he's got a structure to work within, Drew's code is great. When he's got a deadline to meet and a list of deliverables to, umm, deliver, Drew's commitment is complete.

I really love drew, in an "i'd pash him but not invite him home afterwards" kind of way. I'd never use his CMS because of my own modernist prejudices about information being accessible to the user, but if i had a CMS he's the guy i'd get to build the gallery module and the podcast module and the API and the interfaces to everyone else's API's.

After reading all this you probably want to invest in Drew's future, but he turned down the last person who offered. You probably want to hire him already, but you'll have to offer him two ponies. Cos we really want him here.

I love Drew. Not in a sexual way of course, more of an invite to my party but hope he can't make it sort of love.

Drew is funny, energetic, smart and has a high level of integrity. He is entertaining on and off the soccer pitch, where he describes himself as powerful and dangerous, particularly with shoes on.

He tells me that he likes to program and he uses a lot of programming type jargon but I don't know much about that; I'm a designer. I'm sure he's pretty good, particularly for his age.

If you are interested in employing Drew, feel free to give me a call.

I was a new-ish Production Manager at the development firm when I met Drew at a party outside work. Maybe it was the way the moonlight played off his boyish features, or the fact that another friend of mine had laced the punch, but by the end of a fifteen minute conversation I wrote down my phone number for him, and told him to call me when he had finished his course.

A few months later he did. Our production house was pretty staid and conservative at the time, but I asked the boss to give him a week's work experience. That turned into two days a week around his course-work, and that turned into a full time position on the team once he graduated.

I have never felt anything but pride in my decision to bring him on board. From putting in the extra hours needed to finish off a tight deadline, through sitting in on planning meetings and learning from the lead programmer, to instigating our pseudo-sexualised amorous office communication protocol (no really - he did), Drew has never failed to make the office a better place.

I love Drew, in an I'd-take-advantage-of-his-body, but then pretend-that-I-was-drunker-than-I-was the next day, kind of way.

Drop me a line, I'll confirm it in person.
